“Dhatu Red” is inspired by the essence of grounded living - the texture of clay, the rhythm of handwoven borders, and the subtle marks of sacred repetition. Its terracotta tone and border pattern remind me of slow mornings in India, where red dust settled on everything and triangles were drawn with rice paste as offerings.

I created this piece to be a quiet companion. A seat for presence. It lives in my van beside a low wooden table, where I write or sip tea after sunrise. There’s nothing loud about it - and that’s exactly its power. It feels like it belongs. Like it’s always been there.
